PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE: “26TH ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING OF THE INDONESIAN NEUROSURGERY SOCIETY: NEUROSURGERY SERVICE IN THE NEW NORMAL ERA”
Participants of the scientific project “Development of a program of molecular cytogenetic research and creation of a biobank of tumors of the central nervous system” Olenbai Gabit Iliyasuly, Akshulakova Gulshat Kydyrsyikovna, Uteuova Saule Abylaevna and Beks Torekhan Serikuly took part in the conference: “26th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Neurosurgical Society: Neurosurgery Service in New Normal Era" and presentations on the topics: "Introduction of modern technologies into neurosurgical practice of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Current state of treatment of high-grade glioma in Kazakhstan and its potential paths of development", "Removal of central nervous system tumors using intraoperative neuromonitoring".
Participants presented the results of the study, participated in discussions, symposiums and got acquainted with the achievements of neurosurgeon colleagues from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, etc.
Poster presentations were accepted to participate in the competition and presented to representatives of the scientific commission. According to the results of the competition, the report authored by T.S. Beks on the topic “Current state of treatment of high-grade glioma in Kazakhstan and its potential development paths” took second place with a total score of 95 points.
Participants took part in discussions at the symposium on the topics of improving the provision of neurosurgical care, including the use of neuromonitoring. Recommendations for using intraoperative neuromonitoring covered the process of talking with the patient, preparing medical equipment and components, placing electrodes, and working with the operating room team.
As a result of participating in discussions at the symposium, participants met with leading scientists in Asia and discussed scientific work in the field of development: providing care to patients with high-grade glial tumors by expanding specialists in the interdisciplinary team (in particular adding specialists in the field of psychosocial and palliative care), early neurorehabilitation for patients with neuro-oncological diseases, the use of modern technologies (neuromonitoring, ultrasound, fluorescent navigation).
The achievements of the participants’ work were highly appreciated and possible scenarios for development and exchange of experience through cooperation with foreign colleagues were discussed.
